The paper examines the common features of training future teachers to develop an environmental culture in schoolchildren in Russia and China. The analysis is based on a comparison of educational objectives, the role of the teacher, institutional training conditions, and curricular content. It is shown that both countries demonstrate a similar approach to integrating environmental knowledge and valus orientations into teacher education.
