The article provides an analysis of the current situation in connection with the accelerated digital transformation of education and the introduction of artificial intelligence. It emphasizes the need to substantiate psychological and pedagogical grounds for ensuring the safety of students in a virtual educational environment. The process ofstudent integration into the digital environment is analyzed, highlighting its specific characteristics for different age groups. The psychological mechanisms underlying the influence of the virtual environment on student personality development are revealed. The special importance of developing a digital culture, which is an important part of the overall culture of modern students, is emphasized. The article also identifies key contradictions and promising areas for work in creating conditions for ensuring student safety during active participation in a virtual educational environment.
